Defined as retrofuturism for the ages, L’Imperatrice’s latest album, Tako Tsubo, is French Disco at it’s finest. There’s also an underlying awareness and disguised social commentary hiding behind these funky tunes, but discovering those unique aspects make this a record worth listening to over & over again. It’s a fun record definitely, but we must admit that the gatefold sleeve of this album is even more stunning in person. Highly recommended!
