Widely regarded as the best studio album from Grace Jones' discography, Nightclubbing's influence on modern pop music is largely prevalent up until the present day. The record itself was praised by critics as the best album of 1981 due to it's genre splicing nature––ranging from reggae, disco, blues, and some salsa funk all added to a mix of a perfectly danceable album. With it's many grooves and surreal soulfulness, it's relevance only becomes deeper in pop culture as the years go by.
