The fifth concept album from Sufjan Stevens, Come on Feel the Illinoise proves the singer-songwriter’s status as one of the best indie rock artists of today. Well written, intelligent, and brimming with heart-wrenching melodies, this record is bizarre in the good sense especially when considering the combination of over the top arrangements + Stevens’ gentle voice.
It’s hard to believe that this record was made all the way back in 2005, as it’s resonance and creativity are still ultimately fitting to the present day. Includes one of the best songs ever made in our opinion––Sufjan's “Chicago”. Definitely recommended!
