Despite throwing out the Original Score developed for the film by Alex North, Stanley Kubrick's use of preexisting classical tunes added a whole new meaning to the compositions featured inn 2001: A Space Odyssey. Tracks like the Blue Danube and more further added to the tension in Kubrick's masterpiece, which is why it's definitely worthy of it's status as a soundtrack staple in pop culture. Recommended!
